What it checks, and how to fix it

Blog freshness

It reads the date of the last post and counts the posts from the last 90 days. Search engines and shoppers both read a blog with no recent posts as inactive. A steady rhythm of a few posts a month, tied to your products and collections, is usually enough to change that.

Product descriptions

It flags descriptions that are missing or under 40 words. There is no official minimum, but a very short description gives search engines and shoppers little to work with. Say what the piece is made of, how it fits, how to care for it and how to wear it, in your own words rather than the supplier's copy.

Product photos and image alt text

It checks how many photos each product has and whether the images carry alt text. Alt text describes an image for screen readers and helps images show up in image search. Describe what is visible in plain words, keep it short, and skip keyword stuffing.

Theme detector

It shows which Shopify theme a store runs. This is useful when you research competitors or want to see how a store you admire is built.

Five article ideas

It suggests five articles built from the store's own products and collections, so you start from real material instead of a blank page.

The score out of 100

The extension combines these checks into a content score out of 100 and lists what is holding the store back. Treat it as a quick health check. It is not a prediction of where a store will rank on Google.

How to use it

  1. Install it

Add the extension from the Chrome Web Store. It is free and needs no account.

  2. Open a Shopify store

Go to your own store, or any Shopify store you want to look at, and click the extension icon.

  3. Read the report

See the score, the list of issues and the article ideas. One click copies the full report for an email or a proposal.

Who it is for

Store owners who want to check their own content, and freelancers and agencies who audit a store before they write to its owner.

Privacy

It works only on the tab you click, reads public data from the store, and needs no account. There is no tracking.
